Good morning my friends, fans, and fellow circus freaks!
I want to start off by saying that there’s just five days left until my birthday and I’m still running 25% off on commissions until then! I haven’t gotten an new commissions this month so I’m in a bit of a tight spot; If you’ve been considering getting art from me, now would be a great time to put an order in!
That’s not the point of this post though!
I’ve had a lot of trouble updating everything the last couple months, due to what I can only assume has been seasonal depression and just, one thin after the other screwing me up. However!
That doesn’t mean I’ve been complacent. Even though a lot has slipped, a lot has also gotten done, and not everyone may be aware of some of the major changes that have happened.
CHANGES TO COMMISSIONS
Don’t worry here, prices have currently stayed the same (Although I did have to go in and create a new Add-Ons page to show the correct information, after having missed a couple huge mistakes on my original one for almost all of last year)
The biggest changes to commissions are the following:
1) Subscribers on Patreon now get credits toward commissions equal to 80% of their pledge amount every month. This credit can be saved to cover a full commission, combined with my discounts, or used to pa part of a commission. The only things this credit cannot be used for are commercial licenses, supplies costs for traditional art, purchase of prints and shipping; So all digital delivery commissions are fair game.
2) I opened an Etsy store to take commissions on that platform and have had it set up for a ew months. It doesn’t cover all of my options, but it covers most of the commission requests that I normally get.
3) I linked my commission requests here on my website to Artistree, which provides a way for you to purchase commissions directly with a credit or debit card instead of using paypal, cashapp, venmo, etc. It’s not the best order form format; I think it was made for people whose menus are a lot less intensive than mine are, but I managed to get everything on there.
4) As of this last week, I have revised my DeviantArt shop so it now also has all of my commission options. This means that if you are on DeviantArt I an now accept most commissions straight through that platform using DA points or $$.
*PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT I CANNOT OFFER MY DISCOUNTS THROUGH THOSE AVENUES*
5) And probably one of the more important changes, is that I have been forced to realize that my original method of a guaranteed 2-week turnaround is not feasible while doing this work completely on my own. To some of you this isn’t new information really, and I admitted and changed this in my Terms of Service page months ago: But I have some single commissions that take me 3-4 weeks to do, and so the idea that I can work through 10 from my queue and get that 11th on my list completed within two weeks of getting the commission is just… Not feasible. A good majority of my commissions only take me 3-4 days or less, but I’ve been perpetually backlogged on commissions since last June with my waitlist not dropping under 20 commissions at any given time, even in October when I completed 13 commissions.
So the big change there is that I’m tryin to be up-front and give an accurate timeframe for new commissions since I can’t guarantee two weeks anymore.
This change also means that I added options for rush delivery (2-week) and 3-day turnaround, for people who are on a tight deadline and need their work quickly.
OTHER CHANGES AND UPDATES
There haven’t really been huge changes outside of all of that, with DeviantArt Commissions being the new thing so far this year.
However on Patreon there have been a lot of changes, the biggest of which being that I spent the last few months tryin to get switched to a monthly merch setup where anyone on a merch tier gets new merch every month.
If you are on my Patreon you already know how much of a hassle that all was for me, however it’s all set up now.
This means that starting this coming month, everyone who has been subscribed for at least 3 months since I attached the first monthly merch design will start getting their merch monthly.
Here’s how it works:
When you subscribe on my Patreon, and stay for at least 3 months, you begin earning merch. Once your pledge amount is paid, Patreon will automatically start the process to get you your merch (It usually takes 2-3 weeks to get out to you). After that, you will receive merch ever month.
On my end, how it works is whenever I attach the new merch to your tier, you get it 3 months after that- so the people getting merch in February are going to be getting the merch design I added for them in late November.
And since today is the 15th, I’ll be uploading the third design for the monthly merch today (which will go out to people in April).
Now, at the moment I’m currently relying on Merch and minor updates on patreon, because I’ve been fairly overwhelmed for a couple months.
I haven’t been able to post as much Behind the Scenes video content, and none of my recent commissions have been NSFW, but I’m hoping to get back to all of that soon. I’m currently working on grouping some of my commissions together that will allow me to create a backlog of BTS and NSFW content for Patreon, but I have a couple really big projects to get through before all of that.
