2024 Updates Phase 3

With the back end stuff out of the way, I have been working on the front end the last few days.

The initial step was to start the process to make my Patreon all-ages (which is currently in progress, now that I’ve deleted all 18+ content from the page).
Step 2 is going to be transitioning all of my NSFW/Uncensored works over to OnlyFans, which I will be using going forward as the home for any and all NSFW work that I do, aside from print publication.
I’m doing this mostly so that I can finally start making the most out of Patreon, because I found out around October that Patreon doesn’t give the full range of their functions to 18+ accounts; Namely, they don’t allow them to post video, and force those 18+ accounts to use externally uploaded video if you want to share that stuff with your Patrons. Once I get access to the all-ages page, though, I’ll be able to start posting videos right in Patreon, which will make sharing and viewing my timelapse content a lot easier for everyone.

Regarding the terms of service on websites and video, everyone will probably be happy to know that Twitch recently clarified their TOS to include that artists doing nude and risque (but not blatantly pornographic) art on their platform is 100% allowed, as long as the video is properly tagged.
The fact that their prior TOS had such a hard-lined rule against nude artwork is a large part of why I haven’t been streaming as much as I originally planned. I don’t do a lot of NSFW art, however enough of my art IS or starts off seeming that way, that I didn’t want to risk it.

Anyway, those are small steps that I’ve STARTED in phase 3, and will actually need to be dealt with once phase 3 is wrapped up.
The largest leg of phase 3 is updating my website and all of my social media pages to match my 2024 portfolio. I’m currently around halfway done with the website and I’m hoping to have it finished by tonight so I can move on to the rest of the things I need to do and get all of my public-facing sites to all look uniform and have the same information.

Some big changes to the website:

1) WordPress now allows free accounts to have a storefront/take payments directly, so I have started working out a payment page. I take a lot of payments via FB Pay and Paypal currently, but I get asked fairly consistently if I take payments via credit card. Previously I set up Stripe on Artistree, but that platform is so limiting and frustrating for people, and requires so much more work to update than even redoing my entire website, that it’s honestly not feasible for me to use for commissions. If I were like a lot of artists who only do one or two types of things for commissions it would be fine, but having five commission categories and separating everything out by detail level to display EVERY option on there is not only stressful, but confusing to all of my wonderful fans and clients.
Here’s how I’m setting commissions up to work through the site:
First, you’ll head over to the commission request page and fill out the form.
Once the form is filled out, it sends me both an email and a message in my WordPress inbox. I will respond to your email with any questions and a quote for the work you’re requesting.
If you like what you hear and it’s in your budget, I will then give you my payment options; One of which will be a link to a Pay For Your Commission form where you just put in your payment details and the amount you owe for the project. Straightforward and easy, and payments are protected by Stripe just like on Artistree.

2) I have changed the portfolio displays from 9×9 grids to slideshows, which allows me to include more samples of each type of art I do, as well as allows for a little bit more interactivity on your end.

3) I’ve combined some categories. Namely Illustration and Fine Art are now in one category (Fine Art), which also includes a separation for Digital and Traditional styles, my cartoon and detailed character styles are one category (Character), and my Graphic and Logo design are now one category. This is mostly so I don’t have 20 links to different pages at the top of my website cluttering everything up, but also because the categories make a lot more sense that way and I hope it will be easier for people to understand and navigate.

4) I do still have some pages to re-connect to the site, and I’m also planning to link an external website to this one entitled Comic, which will take you to a simple upcoming comic reader site for my pet project, Funhouse Mirrors, which so far doesn’t have a good place to present anywhere online.

5) I’m also currently trying to find a way to link my Redbubble store directly with WordPress, or trying to find a way that I can more easily integrate it with the website so that people can purchase my merch and prints a bit more readily right here from the website.

And all of that will wrap up Phase 3 of my year-end updates. Once I have these changes pounded out and implemented over the next couple days, I’ll be on to phase 4!
Thank you all for your patience at this time, and I hope you enjoy everything that’s coming in 2024!
