I wanted to stop in real quick and let you all know that there WILL NOT be a paid newsletter this month!
I know, probably not a great look for the second month of my VIP Funpass, to not have that, however!

I am currently working on a MASSIVE writing piece in which I detail ALL of the ins-and-outs that I have learned in the last 20 years, of being a professional/freelance artist.

I started this writing as a rage piece that I only expected to be around 5-10 pages, but for those of you who know me, you know that I am a font of bullshit unnecessary information and absorb everything;
Which means that what I expected tot ake 10 pages has evolved into a (currently) 139-page/24 section treatise breaking down EVERYTHING I can think of to tell or teach anyone who wants to learn what it takes to be a professional artist.

This document will be offered FOR FREE, (C) Ash Something Art, and licensed under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. license.

I am digitally publishing 2 versions; One in a standard everyday font, and the other in the dyslexia-friendly font OpenDyslexia, to read a wider audience.
After which, I will begin the process of re-editing the document for print as a book for anyone who would like a hard copy!

The writing of this piece was prompted by hearing the news that Adobe had claimed the license to everyone’s art allowing them to not only use art we make with their programs to train their AI database without our permission, but also to sell the art to others, as long as it is stored in the Adobe Creative Cloud; While I do not store my work in the cloud, this violates SO MUCH Intellectual Property law that I just lost my absolute shit and have been in a 6-day-long fugue trying to give something back to artists that will help empower them and hopefully help them make the most of their art as a career!

Originally this time was slated for me to really think and plan out this month’s newsletter, but unfortunately as much as I love my fans and followers and DO want to give you some kind of paid content for your subscriptions, THIS is a much more important task, and I need to get it done as quickly as possible since it is a non-profit endeavor that has halted my paid work as well!
