Tengu are a common Yokai in the Shinto religion of Japan. Tengu are warlike spirits, and were said to have trained soldiers such as the famous Yoshitsune. They were thought to be able to take the form of crows, and were considered to be fairly arrogant, mischievious and sometimes malicious.
