October Final Updates!

Lokabrenna Tarot and Work with The 3 Little Sisters Publishing

Good morning everyone!
When I came on here to post an update I had actually thought it had been much longer than it has since my last one. A TON of stuff has been happening in the last two weeks.

Since I’ve already updated you all here about my new commission pricing, and dropped the news that I’m now signed with The Three Little Sisters/The Order of the Dread Sisterhood, let me tell you what has been going on over the last couple weeks!

So, to start with, signing with a publisher opened up the floodgates for me in a lot of regards, and I have been working my absolute ass off getting things together.
I’m gonne be even more swamped in November because I just also signed onto a new project with FGG Games LLC, to do a cover and some internal illustrations for an upcoming Campaign Setting for their original TTRPG rulebook that’ll be coming out soon (and features character icon art by yours truly); My deadline to have this new project finished is Thanksgiving, so this one is tighter than previous projects.

But that’s what’s coming soon, not what’s been in progress over the last few weeks!

Lokabrenna Tarot:

I won’t say that I’ve been stonewalled on the art for Lokabrenna, but I’ve been juggling a bunch of stuff, and that means that the art for this project has not moved forward yet. However, some of the stuff I have been juggling is all the back end work for this deck; The planning/brainstorming/organization aspects that are required so that I even know what I NEED to draw for these cards.

As of tonight, I have finally finished organizing and planning out ALL of the cards, at least at the core. I have both the major and minor arcana outlined, as well as what I want the Suits to be, and an ironclad plan for where to go with the deck; The next step of the Back-End work is going to be starting work on planning out the guidebook. At the moment, I’ve already written the text for a couple of the cards, but as I have planned from the start to overhaul the rules of tarot, this guidebook is going to be a lot more involved than a standard tarot deck; Outlining all of the card meanings, redefining what a Suit even is, and breaking down my rules.

Yes, you will be able to use this deck with whatever rules you already know if you practice tarot; I will have indicators on each card to tell you what OG Tarot card it is replacing.
However, the plan behind this deck was to erase Christian influence from the practice of Tarot and spread my own knowledge as a Vitki of Loki to the world; And therefore many of the meanings and symbolism of traditional tarot do not fit in with what I want to present. In using my deck, you should be able to learn what it means to be Norse Pagan, and especially what it means to be a Lokean or Rokkrtru.

And because of that, a LOT of planning needs to go into every page and word that I put into the guidebook, just as a lot of planning needed to go into deciding how to handle each specific card, the suits, and the norse stories I will be illustrating.

Just to give you, dear fans and readers, a bit of perspective; When this month started and I signed on with The Three Little Sisters, I didn’t have ANYTHING for the minor arcana planned, so going from that to where I am today in 2 weeks is a monumental amount of work, that I managed to do while also working on commissions, and planning back and forth with TTLS about other projects they’re having me work on.

Which leads into my next update:

The Three Little Sisters/The Order of the Dread Sisterhood

Now, this is a little harder to break down and lay out for you guys.
But to be frank, it’s very similar to the update about Lokabrenna Tarot.

Over the last two weeks I have been working hand-in-hand with TTLS to plot out and plan the project that they commissioned me for (I still can’t talk a lot about it, but it requires 24 illustrations).
Over the last two weeks we’ve discussed a number of things, and got all the brainstorming and plannnig out of the way. As of yesterday I have finally started to work out the sketches for this project and currently have a total of 5 of the 24 illustrations with finished sketches, approved and awaiting the line art phase.

This project is a bit of an undertaking, as I’m trying to put my best foot forward and using it as a crash-course/pilot project for my Lokabrenna Tarot. Not really a first draft, but something that I can build a new artstyle or refine my style during, so that once I get to the meat of the Lokabrenna Tarot, it will be clear that both were illustrated by me, and with the same level of care and attention to detail (as if this project were of my own creation, just like Lokabrenna is).

So to wrap up:

A lot has been going on these last few weeks, but it has been mostly planning, branstorming, organzing and studying for the projects on my table.

In that time I have completed some commission work, and if you want more updates, or have questions, you can always check out my Twitch or Discord if you want to watch the process of my art in motion, or talk with me about anything!

Thank you all so much for your continued support, and I am so happy to have you along for the ride!
