What is a Commission?
A commission is a direct purchase of my Art Service- you send me whatever request and details you have for an artwork, and I do it for you. How you can use a commission once you recieve he finished piece is depended on the License you purchase with the art, as outlined in my Terms of Service – but the content can be just about anything you want with some minor limits.
How does ordering a commission work?
Well, you can order a commission in two ways. You can either click the image link above, which will take you to my Ko-Fi page, and then select which commission tier and add-ons you want, OR you can send me an email or DM on one of my socials to outline what you want me to create for you. In the event of going through Ko-Fi the process is incredibly streamlined and it allows you to select your options, as well as provide me your description and any references you think I may need for the project- and then you pay right there.
In the case of a direct commission order, it’s a little less streamlined. You need to email/message me what you want drawn, then I’ll discuss it with you and ask some questions. After which, I’ll provide you a quote along with an ETA for when you would get the piece if you order.
After that, payment can be accepted in a few different ways.
In either instance once you submit payment, you will be added to my Waitlist, and I’ll give you intermittent updates on your place in line until your project is up.
Once you are on my table, I will go through the drawing sending you updates starting with the rough sketch, giving you opportunities to request revisions, and so on, until the project is done and we’re both happy with it!
Once the art is approved by you, I will email the final images to you, and move on to the next person on my Queue
I want to use the art I commission from you commercially, is that allowed?
Yes and No. Yes, but only if you purchase a commercial license WITH the art.
If you do not purchase a commercial license, or are not granted one because of the parameters of your commission, then no.
Here are the details of the Licenses I offer, and if you want to know more about Licensing and the IP and Copyright laws and the guidelines I adhere to within them, please see sections VII.I. COPYRIGHT & USAGE POLICY (Overview), as well as VII.III. LICENSING WORK FROM ASH SOMETHING ART and X. DELIVERY AND WHAT YOU RECEIVE in my Terms of Service
It’s also important to note, however, that you are granted the ASA-BC License, also known as the Basic Commercial License, with any artwork whose total price is at least $100 after any discounts (and before any license costs)
Why do you use Ko-Fi for commissions?
If I’m honest it’s because the capabilities of my website don’t yet meet my needs as far as order forms are concerned! I’m hoping that by the end of 2025 I can change this, but I may not be able to until well into 2026.
However, even if I do manage to integrate a similar order form here on the website, I think I’ll still keep the Ko-Fi page open.
The platform is almost perfect and gives me more or less every option I need.
Do I have to order the commission via Ko-Fi?
No, but it does streamline the process for you and make things WAY easier for us both. If you would prefer a direct commission, you can drop me a message on any messenger app you’re following me on, or send me an email at info@ashsomething.art
What About My VIP Funpass Discount?
This is why I said ALMOST perfect; Unfortunately if you have subscribed to the VIP Funpass here through the website, Ko-Fi can’t register you as a VIP Funpass member and offer you he discount.
For this reason, I have also added a secondary VIP Funpass method directly through Ko-Fi, and if you’re signed up there your discount will show in Ko-Fi.
If you would rather stay here than switch platforms- which I prefer- just drop me a commission request directly via my email at info@ashsomething.art
